The Brunner Family: Golden Colorado

While we never made a huge announcement, in 2014 we did transition out of wedding photography and began only photographing portrait work. It was a big change for us after almost 10 years of focusing mostly on weddings but one that we are glad we made. It’s allowed us to get to work with so many of our past clients whose lives also moved on past the wedding and into starting families. In 2009 we had the pleasure of photographing Alyssa + Matt’s wedding in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It will always be one of the most memorable and best weddings we ever had the opportunity to photograph! Fast forward almost 7 years later and these two lovebirds now have a beautiful little family:-)We met the Brunners up in Golden about 2 weeks back and it was so great getting to see them again and meet their 2 boys. Their oldest Cole is almost 3- that age where you wish you could bottle up and share just an ounce of the energy they seem to never run out of. He and his little brother Landon are such little cuties! We had a great time with them that afternoon and are so happy for them! Here’s a sneak peek from their session- enjoy!

The Arnoldy Family: Lair O’ the Bear

A couple weeks back we had the opportunity to photograph the Arnoldy family up at Lair O’ the Bear. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer afternoon and after weeks of trying to work around the snow to capture the look of spring it was so great finally getting to meet them! It was such an odd spring this year but up in Idledale things were a little slower so we were able to catch some flowers in the field and even a few blossoms on the trees. They are friends of the Brandle family who we had the pleasure of photographing last year and we are so grateful for the chance to photograph their family this time:-)They have three cute kiddos who made for a very fun session! Emerson is just getting the hang of this whole walking thing and was ready to go go go! The twins Noah & Mia are 5 and seem to have some good healthy competition with one another. I’m sure having twins has it’s challenges but it was fun watching these two:-)We had a great time with them and got so many cute pictures we’re excited to get to share! Annie & Eric it was so great meeting your family!

Larkspur Family Portraits: The Leonard Family

It was an interesting start to the spring to say the least. The weather just couldn’t make up it’s mind which season it was! Last weekend things finally seemed to calm and the trees had enough leaves to actually look like spring- perfect timing for our session with the Leonard family down in Larkspur. Dawson Butte is one of our favorite locations- and the Leonards are one of our favorite families:-)It had been two years since we last photographed their family and their adorable kids Lexi and Reese have definitely grown since we last saw them! The craziest thing to think about is that this September will mark Jennifer & Nick’s 9 year wedding anniversary! Doesn’t really seem that long since we photographed their wedding but then again so much has changed that it also feels like forever:-)Like always we had a great time getting to photograph their family! We’re excited to share our favorites from the day- enjoy!

Heather + Peter: Denver Maternity Photography

Priscilla (one of the CUTEST puppies ever) is no longer going to be the baby when Heather + Peter welcome their new little one next month. After photographing their beautiful wedding in Mexico 3 years ago we were so happy to hear the news that they are becoming parents and we had a great time getting to capture some maternity photos for them last week. After our crazy weather the last couple months we were glad that at least the snow was gone by our session on Friday. We met the two of them in the Highlands neighborhood for the first half of the session before heading out to Sloan’s Lake for a few more pictures. It was our first time at these two locations and we can’t wait to go back! We even got a few in front of Little Man Ice Cream Shop- which if the ice cream tastes as good as it smells I think I’ll be making weekly trips to Denver in the summer just for ice cream:-)Definitely have to give them props for waiting to find out if they are having a boy or a girl. As the kid who shook every Christmas present and was first under the tree on Christmas morning with zero patience for waiting for surprises, I think it’s really cool that they are waiting to find out. The baby is going to be adorable either way! Here’s some of our favorites from the day- congrats Heather + Peter!!

The Stengel Family: Larkspur

Happy 2016!!!! Can’t believe how fast the end of the year flew by and that we are now already in March. It’s been nice to take a little breather after such a busy fall and the rush of the holidays. Although the majority of our sessions make it to our blog, at times we don’t have the chance to share everything. So, before we start back up this spring we thought we’d share a few sessions from last year that we didn’t share at the time. Back in November we got to photograph the Stengel family down at Dawson Butte. Since our session was planned toward the end of the month they decided it would be great if we could find a location with snow for the pictures. We lucked out the week before and in some areas had a good foot or more to walk through that afternoon. It’s not too often we get to photograph in the snow so we’re really glad they were up for it! We had such a great time with all of them and it was fun getting to do something so different. Here’s a few of our favorites from their session- enjoy!

The VanderHeiden Family: Centennial Family Pictures

Just before the snow came in last week we were able to get one more “fall” session in. This time at a location we had scouted a couple years back but hadn’t had the opportunity to photograph yet. Minus trying to steer clear of the other half dozen photographers it was a perfect spot for a large group! Between the red barn, an old white farm house, the field etc it gave us plenty of variety without everyone having to hike a mile. While they have quite a few new members to their family since the last time we saw them, we have known the VanderHeiden family going on close to 2 decades. Well at least Michelle has:-)Tom and Nancy have been good friends of Michelle’s family way back since she was in middle school. They were able to get their entire family and grandchildren together for a big family session that we had the pleasure of getting to capture for them. We had a great time with all of them and are so excited to get to share some of our favorite images from that afternoon! Such a beautiful family! Enjoy!

Katie + Felix: South Platte Maternity Photos

The best thing about photographing near sunset is that even when the leaves are mostly gone you can still get all sorts of beautiful colors regardless of the time of year! Last weekend we headed back to South Platte Park in Littleton- this time to meet up with Katie + Felix for their maternity session. In all the years of photographing weddings, Katie + Felix will always be among our favorite couples:-)We could easily photograph these guys again and again- and there would never be a dull moment! They are expecting their first child, a little boy, just after the first of the year and we couldn’t be happier for them! Stella their puppy also came along for the session. I think she doesn’t realize she’s a bulldog though LOL.  She was jumping over downed trees and running like the wind all without seeming to tire one bit- never seen so much energy:-)With her being so rambunctious Katie and Felix are definitely prepared for a baby. Here’s some of our favorites from the day- they brought along some cute props that made their session even more awesome! Congrats guys!!
