Sometimes you just have everything fall into place- perfect couple, perfect location, perfect weather and just an overall awesome time. Our session with Aubrey + Cameron was just that! Not only are they the CUTEST couple and super sweet but they ride downhill mountain bikes, Cameron rides dirt bikes, and they are fellow “yeep” (aka Jeep) owners- this was a match made in photographer heaven (in case you didn’t know I also ride mountain bikes, dirt bikes, and we LOVE our Jeep). The day of our session was the first time we had the pleasure of meeting these two but had heard nothing but wonderful things about them from Cydney at Stiletto Events and we knew by our emails back and forth that we were really going to enjoy getting to work with them. I love that they brought along props to really personalize their pics. Of course that had to include Aubrey’s awesome pink bike which made for some really fun photos and the veil and crown was hilarious!! Aubrey + Cameron both went to CU so Boulder was the perfect location for their engagements. It was only the second time we’d been to Chautauqua Park but it was the first time we’d been there in the spring and it was GORGEOUS! We can’t wait for their wedding this August! Thank you Cydney for referring them to us and Heathyrre did a beautiful job (as always) with Aubrey’s makeup. Here’s a sneak peek from our session.
I basically grew up in Highlands Ranch so I probably passed by the Highlands Ranch Mansion more times than I can count over the years. After starting our business it was a location that I hoped one day we’d get to photograph. Which meant we was really excited to learn that Katie & Tyler were getting married there. I’ve known Katie forever and just a few months back Michelle and I had the pleasure of photographing her brother and sister-in-laws wedding downtown (Brenden & Jess). Katie & Tyler had a little boy the end of last year and oh my gosh is he ADORABLE! While he was sleeping for most picture opportunities we did get a couple of Brent with Katie before the ceremony and a quick one of the three of them together before the night was over. It was a bit chilly for their wedding the first weekend in May but thankfully the snow finally made it’s grand exit the week before ushering in the start of spring and giving us some beautiful green grass for the ceremony outside (even captured some with the horses in the field behind them during the ceremony). We had such a great time working with Katie & Tyler! I love the pics we got of the two of them in between the trees lining the drive up to the mansion- gorgeous! Cydney from Stiletto Events did an amazing job as always with the wedding planning- so glad we’ll be working with her a lot this year! I had a hard time narrowing down which pictures to share but here’s some of our favorite images from the day!

I realize we’re posting a few more pictures this time than usual but it’s not everyday we get the chance to photograph a wedding on the beach in Mexico. While I LOVE living in Colorado and feel very blessed to capture photos for people here in our beautiful state, it’s a pretty awesome experience when you get to work with a couple who flies you to another location to photograph their wedding and who could possibly say no to the beach?! Heather and I went to high school together years ago but it was through Cydney that her and Peter got connected with us. We can’t thank Cydney enough for passing them our way and this opportunity. Heather and Peter are such a sweet couple and we had the most amazing time working with them. In fact I don’t know if I could really even call it “work” at all- it was way too much fun and talk about the ideal “office”! Their wedding was held at The Royal Playa del Carmen where we stayed for a few days leading up to the wedding and I have to say that between our experience at the resort itself and the attention they put into the wedding that I would highly recommend them. Neither Michelle nor I wanted to leave when it came time to go back home
. Heather and Peter we are so grateful for the opportunity and we’re so happy we got to work with you! We wish you guys a world of happiness!

It’s always interesting to hear couple’s stories of how the met and Ashlyn & Tyler’s connection to Colorado definitely had us wondering. Both are Texas natives, currently living across the country, but are getting married in the Colorado mountains despite family & friends living elsewhere. We were curious why they decided to plan the wedding here (besides the fact that it is a beautiful location to get married) but it made perfect sense seeing as they met here while on a ski trip with friends. Apparently they instantly clicked when they met and that chemistry was definitely obvious throughout our session with them up at Mt Falcon. I almost felt like we should have been paying them for modeling rather than them paying us! It’s plain to see they are a gorgeous couple but they were also so much fun to work with. Most of the snow from our recent storm had melted down here in town so we were expecting nothing more than a little mud and some snow on the grass. We got a bit of a shock to find just how much snow was still up there. I think each of us had at least a handful of close calls almost falling while we slipped through the slushy snow. They were so great about it though and I think in the end the pictures were definitely worth the slushy hike. We can’t wait to photograph their wedding this coming summer especially since Cydney will be planning it- we know it will be awesome!

Our blog has been quite for too long so we’re excited to finally post a session that is long overdue! We had a crazy hectic year last year with moving, moving, moving, and moving again so took a much needed break for a few months to settle into our new house and have been working on some things we are excited to unveil later this year. Hopefully everyone has had a great start to the new year! We’re definitely looking forward to this year with some awesome clients. This post goes all the way back to November. Hanako is a friend and one of our very favorite clients who we’ve had the opportunity to work with on numerous occasions beginning back in 2007. She’s starting up her modeling portfolio again after several years on hold and we were more than happy to help her do that. Heathyrre Kautz came along to provide makeup for the session and did a beautiful job! We were so glad we got to work with her again and highly recommend her (she also does wedding makeup so make sure to check out her site if you are in need of a makeup artist for your wedding). Our session ended up covering two days as we got rained out part way through the first day but the second time around was beautiful weather. We started at the South Platte Reservoir and then headed to Downtown Littleton for some night photos. I love the pictures we got especially of her laughing (that’s Hanako to a T) and of course had an awesome time- it’s impossible not to with Hanako!! Here’s a sneak peek from our shoot.

I’m a little behind on blogging between both Michelle and I being sick and then being out of the office trying to get in our last sessions before the fall colors completely left for the season. I’m really excited to blog this session because of how much we enjoyed getting to take the photos for the Wiesner Family. Thank you again to Cydney from Stiletto Events for introducing us to this wonderful family. Back in September we got the chance to work with them for Christy + Matt’s wedding that was held at their property. This time around we headed to their home for a family portrait session. The sun was playing a few games with us that afternoon and couldn’t make up it’s mind whether to go behind the clouds or shine but that’s Colorado for you! Besides that and a little bit of wind we were able to catch the last of the fall colors and had a beautiful afternoon for pictures. It was so much fun getting to work with all of them again. The session also included one of Shelly’s sisters and her family so we were able to get several photos with all of them together and of the cousins. Sometimes photographing larger families can be a challenge but they made it so easy! Here are a few of our favorites from the day- enjoy!

With today being Halloween I figured this session was only fitting. This is probably one of my very favorite family sessions we’ve photographed to date. What’s better than costumes for a photoshoot?! Krista is a very talented photographer and I have to say it’s a little intimidating to be asked to photograph for a fellow photographer but at the same time the ultimate compliment! We met a few years back at a workshop and I really enjoyed getting to know her over those few days. When she contacted us for a family session to celebrate her and her husband Jeff’s 10 year anniversary I was so excited to hear the ideas she had planned. This was not your typical family session. Since it was for a big occasion they wanted to dress in formal attire and with it being October then include a few with their Halloween costumes. We had such a great time with the Cooley family- the kids are adorable and I couldn’t help but laugh while taking pictures of them in their awesome costumes! The session was shot over two days since midway through our original shoot at the South Platte Reservoir the wind and rain came in blowing like crazy! They had a really cool old Mustang that we were able to capture a couple pictures next to right as the rain & wind really picked up. We hid under the bridge for a few final shots and then decided we’d finish another day down at my new favorite spot in Castle Rock. Fortunately the weather was beautiful for the second day! Thanks guys for two very fun afternoons and congrats on 10 years!!
