One of the reasons we always include an engagement session with every wedding is because it’s a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera and gives the couple a chance to see how we work before the big day. Having a camera follow you around all day can be a little intimidating for almost anyone- at least us NORMAL people (celebrities excluded). So, the engagement session is perfect practice. Christy & Matt weren’t too sure about this whole photo idea but their friend Michelle who also came along for the shoot (she’s like a 2nd mom to Christy) convinced them that one day they’ll look back and be glad they captured such an important time in their lives. I’m so glad she convinced them because they really are a beautiful couple and we got some amazing images of the two of them! Since Matt had to catch a flight back home later that evening we opted for a location that was closer and chose one of my favorite spots- Daniels Park. I always forget what a gorgeous view it is up there. We had a wonderful time photographing them that day and can’t wait for their wedding in September. A big thank you to Cydney of Stiletto Events for recommending us and excited to get to see what you have in store for planning their big day!!

I absolutely LOVE when we get to photograph at unique locations that you won’t find anyone else getting married at. Last weekend we had the pleasure of photographing Robynn & Kyle’s gorgeous wedding on the mother of the bride’s private property in the outskirts of Littleton. Between the location, the weather, and the beautiful couple we got so many amazing photos! I could probably write an entire post with just the details put into this wedding, almost all of which were handmade by either the bride or friends & family. And how cool are these cakes?! The wedding cake was designed to look like a tree etched with their initials and the grooms cake appropriately had a snowmobile atop the cake (how the happy couple met). We were so glad they trusted us to capture this day for them- it was one of the most fun weddings we’ve gotten to photograph. Robynn & Kyle seemed so relaxed throughout the day and since the wedding was on private property the time constraints weren’t as tight as you’d typically find at a wedding which allowed the events to unfold naturally in a way that made the day flow perfectly and never felt rushed. Robynn has two of the cutest little girls who acted as flower girls in the wedding. Her oldest daughter was hilarious- those are lemons she is making a funny face with! We even got a few shots of them with their dog and attempted a few with Robynn & her horse who was a little freaked out from all the commotion going on and got a little camera shy. The one photo that Robynn really wanted to get was with the guns and I was cracking up while taking these- not your typical wedding dress accessory?? We had such a great time with these two and are so grateful that Heather & Bill referred them to us. I could go on and on but I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
