Kristin + John: Inverness Wedding Photographer

Two weeks ago Michelle and I had the pleasure of photographing Kristin + John’s wedding at the Inverness Hotel here in the DTC. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day- not too hot or cold and a nice mix of a little sunshine with a few clouds. It was one of those days that helps you remember why living in Colorado is so awesome! Kristin and John chose to see each other before the ceremony for a first look session. We love doing these since it allows us more time with the couple and it seems like it always helps calm any nerves before walking down the aisle. I love the look on Kristin’s face right before John turned around to see her! Following the ceremony we took a few more photos of the two of them before they headed off to the reception and I LOVE the ones of them standing behind the tree! We had so much fun working with these two and are so happy they found us. We got some hilarious pictures during the reception when everybody starting to let loose. At one point I decided to utilize the video feature on my camera since a photo just couldn’t quite capture the moment. There always seems to be someone at a wedding that just captures your attention and this little guy was definitely it that evening- he was a riot to watch! Check him out on the video link below. Caity + Drew: Denver Engagement Portraits

This year has been one of the most exciting years for us! We’ve had some amazing opportunities and have met some of the most wonderful people. Caity and Drew are one of our awesome couples getting married this year. They are getting married in just a little over a month and we are so thrilled to be working with them. Talk about crazy amounts of chemistry!!! It’s obvious to see how these two just “get” one another and how much they are in love. They are just so darn cute!  We had a blast with them downtown a little over a week ago. We met at the Millennium bridge, worked our way through Commons Park and then up to Platte Street to the lower Highlands area (one of my absolute favorite locations to photograph). We had a lot of fun and were glad the weather held after all the crazy rain we’d been getting. Caity is actually an aspiring photographer herself- it’s always a privilege to work with other “artsy” folks who love photography. We can’t wait for your wedding next month guys. Here’s just a few of my favorite images from our shoot- enjoy!

Traci + Jeff: Colorado Fall Wedding

The 2010 wedding season started off great and couldn’t have had a better ending! Traci & Jeff’s fall wedding was a perfect way to end our year. Although it was a bit windy, the weather was gorgeous for the middle of October. They held their ceremony at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Aurora. Michelle actually lived just up the street from the church when she was a kid so it was cool to get to photograph there all these years later. It is such a beautiful church and it’s so rare that you get that kind of beautiful light for photos inside a church! Following the ceremony we headed to the Courtyard in Cherry Creek where the views from the ballroom on the top floor are just amazing! We could even see the wildfires burning out near Chatfield that day. We had so much fun at this wedding- even got to dance to Michelle and I’s song during the reception- something we haven’t done in quite a while. Traci & Jeff are such genuine nice people and we were amazed at how kind their family & friends were as well. It’s people like them that make our job such a joy! Thank you guys for allowing us to photograph this important day in your lives. We also want to say a big thank you to Christina & Ryan, whose wedding we photographed back on 07/07/07, for sending Traci & Jeff our way- thanks guys!

Stacey + Tim: Wedding at the Hyatt Regency DTC

Fall is one of my favorite seasons to photograph- nothing can compare to the colors of this season. And it seems that other people must feel the same way since each year the fall seems to be more and more popular for weddings with this year being no exception. Our first wedding in October was held at the Hyatt Regency DTC with Stacey & Tim. Between the couple, the colors, the details, and the location their wedding is definitely up there on my list of all time favorites. We met Stacey & Tim through our friends Kristie & Matt- whose wedding we photographed last summer… or so we thought. Turns out we actually met Tim 2 years prior when he was a groomsmen for Erin & Donald’s wedding all the way back in July of 2007! A fact that neither Tim nor Michelle and I realized until their wedding day when we were pleasantly surprised by Erin & Donald’s attendance. Stacey & Tim have been such a pleasure to work with. While you may have seen pictures of a bride with her dog before, they are typically with the bride holding the end of a very long leash and the dog as far away from her dress as possible. Not Staceyicon smile photoHer one request for her wedding day was to have a picture holding her dog Oscar.  Take one look at him and you’ll see why- he’s adorable (Note: no wedding dress was harmed in taking these photos). During the reception, Stacey & Tim’s DJ provided a spotlight for their toasts, first dance etc. If there is one thing you should do for your reception, this is it! I could have photographed with that light all night! This post could have gone on for miles but we finally narrowed down just a few of our favorites for now so enjoy!

Robyn + Chuck: Hudson Gardens Wedding

Robyn & Chuck originally planned on having an intimate wedding ceremony while taking a cruise to Italy. However, through a little convincing from Chuck’s daughter, Christina, Robyn & Chuck decided that in addition to their cruise that they’d plan something “small” for family & friends to witness here in Colorado. Well, it didn’t exactly turn out to be a “small” event as all of Robyn’s family traveled in to take part in their celebration- it had been over 10 years since the last time they were all together. They held the wedding at Hudson Gardens here in Littleton. Having past by Hudson Gardens all these years I’ve always wanted to photograph there and we finally got the chance. They held the ceremony in the Rose Garden in honor of Robyn’s grandmother, Rose. It’s really a beautiful location! Following the ceremony we headed to Aurora to the Wheatlands Community Center for the reception. We had a great time getting to know Robyn & Chuck and their daughters, Christina & Jade.
