A couple of weeks ago Michelle and I had the chance to travel to Erie, Pennsylvania to spend a few days with her brother and sister-in-law. Neither of us had ever been really anywhere in that area of the country so that also made the trip pretty exciting for us. Michael & Christen flew us out to Buffalo where we got to see Niagara Falls on the other side of the border and then we headed to Erie for the next few days to spend some time relaxing and taking some photos for the two of them. It was a really fun trip and we had such an amazing time! So sad to come back homeWe spent two days photographing in various locations in Erie. The first day we started out our shoot at The Crooked I- a local bar in downtown Erie, PA. The idea behind this shoot centered around a couple meeting in a bar. This whole shoot was photographed with two little portable flashes and a hand made snoot to direct the light using a brochure we found in the bar- pretty amazing what you can do without all the big equipment we normally use! For the second group of photos we got to utilize the loft area upstairs from the bar. The second and third floor was pretty much like shooting in an abandoned building- something we don’t have much of in Denver so it was great to get to use a space like that. These were more “romance novel” type images- something I think we accomplished well! The last section of photos we headed outside. The clouds started coming in and the temperature was dropping (as was the sun) but we found a couple of great locations to shoot before we were all too tired and hungry to go further.
