Mason Baby Portraits: Highlands Ranch

January has been a busy month for us- it’s hard to imagine that it’s already over and we’re now in February! A couple weeks ago we had the pleasure of meeting Nami & John and their two adorable boys, Mason & Tyler. Mason is a little under six months old and was all smiles almost the entire session! His big brother Tyler kept us entertained while we gave Mason a few breaks from the camera and made the day that much more fun. We had such a great time photographing their family and love the way the photos turned out! Everyone was so nice and so easy to work with. We’re really excited to get to work with them again later this summer when we take pictures of the whole family together. Can’t wait to work with them again!

Rysner Family Portraits: Highline Canal

Over the years looking at thousands and thousands of photos I’ve developed an obsession with teeth- straight, white, and of course smilingicon smile photoWell the Rysner family takes that obsession to a whole other level. I guess that’s what happens though when you look at teeth for a living. If you hadn’t guessed already, Dr Rysner is a dentist, and not just any dentist… he’s MY dentist! For a few years I struggled finding a good dentist and my parents recommended I see Dr Rysner because not only was he a great dentist but a great guy as well. Needless to say they were right and I no longer dread going to the dentist- seriously if you need an awesome dentist he’s your man! Anyway awhile back he contacted me to set up some family pictures but between both our schedules and life it wasn’t until this fall that we got the chance to finally meet his whole family and take photos for them. His wife Jill and their two boys were just as great- we really enjoyed the afternoon with everyone! Fall is a favorite of mine and you just can’t pass up throwing leaves it’s too much funicon smile photoHere’s a sneak peek from our session- thanks guys! And yes I remembered to flossicon smile photohehe

Millie + Family: Red Rocks Family Portrait Session

A couple weeks ago we met Millie and her family up at Red Rocks for a family portrait session. There was a concert that evening but we generally don’t run into too many people as long as we arrive several hours before the concert. Apparently this crowd was a little different. It looked as though they had been camped out for hours or even days and there were lots of interesting characters- including one man running around in just his underwear and a bathrobe. I guess that’s to be expected when you attend a concert featuring one of the members of the Grateful Dead. It was quite amusing to people watch while we met up with Millie and her family- you couldn’t help but laugh- I guess the perfect atmosphere for starting pictures:-) We met Millie through her son, Chris, who I had worked with for a few years at my day job. Chris purchased the session for his mom as a gift last year which made the perfect opportunity for some pictures of the family. We had a wonderful time getting to meet everyone. Even saw a few deer on the steep rocks while we were photographing which Chris’ daughter, Moorea, found quite entertaining- she’s such a cutie! Millie, you and your family were a pleasure to work with and we really hope we get the chance to work with you again in the future!

The Anderson Family: Washington Park Family Session

Where the heck has this month gone? Seems like it just began and now we’re almost in October! We have so much to blog about from this past month and this one goes all the way back to the beginning of September. We met the Anderson family at Wash park for their family session several weeks back. We’ve photographed at the park several times but this was only the second time doing so with young children. And we learned a very important lesson- don’t let them see the playground BEFORE the pictures or they’ll just want to play. Really can you blame them? Hmm smiling and sitting still for someone you don’t know or playing…. I’d probably want to go play tooicon smile photoSo after a couple attempts of getting the family together for a few pics of everyone smiling we let the girls off the hook to go play and figured we could get a few of them having fun on the playground in the process. After a little while we were then able to get everyone together for a few pictures before they were ready to get back to the playground again. Even snuck a few of the girls smiling. Here’s just a few pics from our day.

Gall & Ziesman Family: Highline Canal Portrait Session

Sometimes it’s hard to believe I graduated high school 10 years ago! Especially when you see someone you haven’t seen since graduating and it’s like it was yesterday. I’ve known Emilie since I was 14- yikes that was forever ago! Through the power of Facebook- seriously what did people do before this was invented- we got connected all these years later. When she told me she was going to be an aunt and wanted her sister to get their photos taken once the baby was born I was very excited to not only see Emilie but get to see her family as well. We met Sara and her husband with the rest of the family at their parents house here in Highlands Ranch. Since the highline canal is so close we figured it would be a great location for the pics of the family. Little Sawyer is absolutely precious!!! He’s the first grandchild/nephew in the family and you can tell how much love they all have for this little guy. We had a wonderful time with everyone and love the photos we walked away with. Here’s just a few from our session- enjoy!
